A lot of people have now found out that you can use a simple program called TweakMC which will then allow you to use your Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote with your Windows Vista or Windows XP Computer. I am now running a Pre-Release copy of Windows Seven to test but they still haven't given you the option to use your Xbox remote with Media Center. So I thought to use TweakMC but as soon as you run it it tells you its not compatible, so here is a Windows Seven compatible version of TweakMC.
To set your Xbox remote up with Windows Seven, Vista and XP MCE follow these instructions;
1: Start TweakMC (Run as Administrator).
2: Select “Remote Control Settings”.
3: Enable Universal Remote Control (May already be enabled).
4: Select "Set Remote Control ID".
5: Fill in the input box with one of the following numbers.
0 - Any Remote.
1 - Microsoft Media Center Remote only.
8 - Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote only.
5: Restart you computer.
